Showing here a couple of pictures (Click on them for full size.) from the Kelly Thomas rally & march today. These things are becoming pretty regular in Fullerton these days, and might happen every Saturday indefinitely.
If you’ve been under a rock for the last couple of weeks, here’s the short version:
Kelly Thomas was a homeless schizophrenic generally thought by the locals to be harmless. The local police were probably familiar with him because he had hung around the area for quite a while. On July 5th, down on the ground, surrounded by six Fullerton cops, he was beaten to death.
For more on the story, see the two local independent news sources:

(Fullertonsfuture wastes a lot of time picking on the Fullerton Observer for being inadequately zealous, but between the two of them, you can get a pretty good collection of info.)

The related demos, demanding the jailing of the cops involved, or simply the release of a video tape of the incident, have attracted a good variety of people. This first picture shows
Oath Keepers (the black shirts with yellow lettering) and masked Anons.

ANSWER, mostly based in LA for this region, has also taken part, but a show of hands when the march gathered at the site where Kelly was killed showed at least a third of the people were Fullerton residents. Another third or so were from neighboring parts of
Orange County. The red balloons mark the spot where he was beaten.

Where the demo spent most of its time is in front of the Police Station, pictured here.
People lined the street for a couple blocks. I guesstimated about 300 of us, but we declined to dine in Hell that night. Rumor has it that the best equivalent in Fullerton is a certain sports bar where the owner has a reputation for complaining about people like Kelly loitering in the vicinity, which might be related to the whole disaster.
